Brasa gardens: come together, seek connect and heal

Kring Brasa is an alliance of park creators, born out of participation for the creation of the Brasa Park. The purpose of the alliance is to develop Brasa Park towards maximum added value for Southeast, from the residents' perspective, and to create a sense of ownership among the neighbourhood residents.

Kring Brasa (Brasa Circle) is an alliance of park creators, born out of the community of Brasa Park. The Park has several fields, of which field No. 5 has the theme "Green" . The neighoubrhood group Green has plans for this park field and the surrounding part of Brasa Park, including the neighborhood garden Gardens of Brasa, set up in 2022 by four inspired neighbourhood women.

Since early 2023, Kring Brasa is in alliance with the Green Hub Cooperative. There are several groups active within Kring Brasa that deal with green space management, programming at Brasa Gardens, the greenhouse and initiatives in the development fields. Kring Brasa serves as the umbrella coop.

Goals of the alliance:
- To develop Brasa Park towards maximum added value for this specific area of Southeast from the residents' perspective, and to create ownership among the neighborhood residents.
- To keep activities at Brasa Park accessible and affordable.
- Kring Brasa subscribes to several values, including regeneration, openness, transparency, approachability, inclusion, connection, tranquility, craftsmanship, cooperative attitude, sharing, knowledge transfer, local employment, sustainability and circular economy.

The Gardens of Brasa work group is a community that uses the gardens as a means for local residents to meet, learn together and enjoy the greenery of Amsterdam Southeast. The gardens are a place where people from diverse cultural backgrounds come together and learn from each other, seeking connection and healing.
