Green Gas Digesters SouthEast

Supports the benchmark "Masterplan Amsterdam Zuid Oost":
A bit

Transforming waste into green gas is an important transition path. Cocratos and the JCA have been pushing this waste digester technology.

EC Anne Stijkel and cofounder of CoForce has initiated with Cocratos the green gas path. Her first initiative was Groengas, quick fix as transition pathway for her neighborhood Gaasperdaam. Under the name "Schijt je Rijk" she mobilized her neighborhood and presented a MOOI subsidy to realize a huge waste digester and intended to facilitate up to 15000 households with green gas iso fosil gas. Unfortunately this initiative stranded in a MOOI subsidy request. Important knowlegde was gathered whenever the time is ready we can continue this project.

Cocratos also initiated a doughnut deal for a mini waste digester at the Groene Hub. With a subsidy of the Municipality this was realized. It took the Municipality over 18 month to provide the purmits to be able to turn it on. Legislation and permits are a main burden to implement successful implementation for sharing benifits of the mini waste digesters producing 15m3 of gas a day. We refer to the website of Cocratos for more information the doughnut deals and the extensive work of Anne. Latest develments on the Mini digester can be found here

EC Marijn Maris and EC Henk van Raan initiated for the Johan Cruiff Arena a waste digester together with Waste Transformers. Thanks to EC Richard Ruitenbeek and EC Annoesjka Nienhuis, the businesscase was realized were through Social Return obligations waste collection could be organized through Pantar (employing workers with distance to the labor market). Further more it took 2 year before the permits and approvals were provided by the Municipality.

Waste digesters is very innovative and if not by the persistance, passioon and endurance of the EC's this would not have been possible.
