Kandelaar high energy bill reduced by 50%. With a special loan and advise from the Mosque the investments in equipment was realized.
The referent of the Kandelaar, a Community Church Building for various Afro communities, requested CoForce to help out with the huge energy cost. In 2021 a study was performed were it resulted that the heat distribution system and other climate systems had serious defects.
To this project EC Riezwan Basarat (technical) and EC Otas Alum (community awareness) were assinged from CoForce side.
For instance the distribution heating system was constantly running (could not be turned of) and the cooling system could not be controled graduately only on and off. These defects in the building could be solved by adding "regulate devices" to 6 places in the building.
The result showed that cost could be reduced to more than 50%, as well that members of the community could do the technical support for the systems.
In 2023 the board came back for additional support to find the funding. The Municipality could provide a special loan for this project. This installations are ready end of 2023.
Together with these building adjustments and creating a technical support group from the community. De kandelaar has obtained a training for Energy Coaches to help the community on savings on the Energy bill supported by Stichting !Woon.
