Taibah Mosque to Energy Neutrality

The Taibah Mosque realized an Energy Neutral Mosque, as example for the community. Energy cost are now used for food to the people in need.

The late Imam's wish for a sustainable Mosque lead in 2019 to an initative of CoForce together with EC Riezwan Basarat (expert in heating systems). The Idea lead to an investment plan and subsidy request that was honored in May 2020. Apart from a subsidy granted by the municipality the investment came from donations from the community. In October 2020 the installations were placed. The saving in Gas consumption (24000m3) and kWh was €20.000 per year (2019 pricing).

The total renovation of the Mosque was finalized end of 2020. The savings could directly be returned to the community and social duties of the Mosque, that provides a food to the poor and other support.

The second phase of the project to educate Energy Coaches from the community and awareness programs stranded due to Corona, but is taken up by the current board to be launched soon by a Mosque working team.
